Who & why
About this site
A community-run front door for Speigletown — built by neighbors, for neighbors.
What this is
This is an independent, community-run website for Speigletown, a hamlet in the Town of Schaghticoke, Rensselaer County, New York (ZIP 12182). It gathers the things residents actually need — public safety contacts, town meeting schedules, local services, a business directory, community groups, and news — into one place.
We aim for a blend of three voices: the reliability of a town reference, the energy of an action group, and the curiosity of a community newspaper.
What this isn't
This is not an official government website. For official business, records, and legal notices, contact the Town of Schaghticoke directly. In any emergency, call 911. We do our best to keep information accurate, but please verify anything critical with the source.
Get involved
There are lots of ways to help make this genuinely ours:
- Submit news, an event, or raise a local issue

- Start or list a community group
- Help maintain a section, contribute photos, or fix an error
